As Mother’s Day approaches, I can’t help but think of the women who dread this day year after year. Because year after year, they are reminded so blatantly who they are not. They are not mothers.
But I beg to differ.
They may not be mothers in the physical, obvious sense, with little people to show for it, but they most certainly possess a mother’s heart.
And it is beautiful.
An ugly beautiful.
Ugly, for they do not know the warmth of little arms around their neck, or hear a tiny voice utter that precious word, “Mommy.”
Beautiful, for they know a love so intense, only a few can understand.
These women should be honored and remembered, too.
So this Mother’s Day, say a prayer for these incredible women. Give them a hug and let them know their mother’s heart is beautiful and celebrated.
From one mother’s heart to another…
You are not forgotten. You are not weak or less of a woman. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are remembered and honored. YOU have the toughest job in the world, for to contain such love with no child to pour that love upon…yes…that is the toughest job in the world. This Mother’s Day, I celebrate you.
