Adoption & Foster Care Support Group: Behavioral Challenges Part 1

  • DeWitt Cottage 150 Linden Avenue Lynchburg, VA, 24503 United States (map)

While we can’t ignore or excuse the behavior that comes with the mad feelings, we can be compassionate and empathetic about the sadness they’re experiencing. We can choose to shift our focus from punishing the behavior to calming their big feelings and giving them a chance for a ‘re-do’ once things have settled down. Armed with these insights, we find ourselves more able to stay connected to our children.

Peer-to-peer support for women walking through every step of foster care and adoption. Supporting and educating women as we acclimate to life (in any season) with foster and adoptive children.

Offering the opportunity to validate experiences, share resources, and gain support and encouragement.

Join us on 2nd and 4th Mondays from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
